Spain Portugal 2014
In 2014 we made a trip through north west Spain, Castiliè en León, Basque Country, North of Portugal to the area of Cabeceiras de Basto. It was not, but it felt like our maiden trip. Haha after 25 years of riding!
This time we hit the road just a little more nervous than necessary given our experience. Our equipment was the one we are taking with us for a year during our overland trip to Asia. So it had to work, it had to be enough and all working! Did we think of all? Parts and tools. Clothes, warm and cold.
And than the bikes. Are they suitable enough? Can we get used to them? Especially the Heidenau Scout tires provided a different riding experience.
And we had such a distress for the unsealed part.
Though experienced on the asphalt, so very inexperienced we were on unpaved. As you can see in the pictures, we took the hard part and went directly in the mud and fell. That is, Lilian did. We started our trip at the Horizon Unlimited meeting in France. Oh what a rookie I felt. I clearly remember one traveler saying dont be afraid to fall. And I did and I didn't like it al all! It was a fail.
But this trip was fun, we pushed our limits and discovered that we were fine. In all circumstances. As you will see at the pictures!
